My name is Khoi D. Hua. I am native-born Vietnamese (Quangnam, Vietnam). My mother passed away when I was seven years old. This event required my father to transition from subsistence farming to seek work long distances from our village to support my two sisters and me. During his absence, love and respect for family remained our pillar of strength. Upon his visits home, he expressed his deepest wish for us, "Children, education, education, and education is the only way out of this situation of poverty." Shortly after, I was placed in a Temple where I studied diligently to fulfill my father’s wish. As a young adult, I escaped the country with my family. I earned my American citizenship and American Engineering Certificate. Although my family's life was disrupted by my mother’s death, and uncertainties of war, I made it to a country where my education continues to be of service to others. Supporting and promoting potential of others remains my deepest passion and life’s purpose. It is my deepest wish to improve the daily lives of marginal and ethnic minority children, and elderly women who endure familiar hardships. Through this work, I am honored to dedicate my life to the well-being and potential of marginalized and ethnic minority children, and forgotten elderly women of Vietnam.

Profession: Medical Devices Engineer at W.L. Gore and Associates Flagstaff Arizona USA
I was born in Olympia, Washington into a house complete with the love and support needed to succeed. My three brothers, Thien-An, Quyen, and Loc, acted as my role models leading me to all the successes we’ve accomplished together in life. Our parents have led us by example, demonstrating that education is the foundation of success. They have instilled in our hearts that success is to be shared with others by being compassionate to our communities and practicing humility. Everyday they continue to encourage us with words of praise for our accomplishments. These basic teachings have led me to the accomplishments I have achieved today, a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and Forest Resources and a career developing medical devices for W.L. Gore and Associates. It is these basic teachings that every child deserves.
We have been blessed with the opportunity to serve these communities and allow these children to have the support that every child deserves and needs to succeed.
